What is Nritya Studios?
Nritya Studios, founded by dancer Srija Wang, initially began as a YouTube Channel showcasing her various dance styles. Over time, it evolved into a platform primarily centered around her dance school, Nrityaarpana School of Bharatanatyam. This platform now provides extensive online resources including Kalakshetra style Adavus, Bharatanatyam repertoire, and strength training modules.

Bharatanatyam Class
About me
Srija is a disciple of Guru Smt. Vanishree Ravishankar, (disciple of Savithri Jagannath Rao) and Guru Kalaimamani Smt. Roja Kannan. She has been passionately training Kalakshetra style and practicing it since 2015.
Being a non Indian and didn’t have opportunity to learn this dance in her childhood, it was passion that drove her to dig deeper into the language, culture, mythological stories and she has been to India many times to train.
Her journey in Bharatanatyam actually started with Bollywood dance. By sheer chance, she casually enrolled into a fitness class that’s bollywood moves inspired and felt an instant connection to the music, she then joined a few bollywood and Bhangra dance teams, while doing bollywood, she was very intrigued by the mudras and steps used in semi classical style bollywood and she decided to try out a bharatanatyam class, the rest is history.
In October 2022, she made a bold decision to quit her job in tech and focus solely on building her dance, that’s how Nritya Studio was born.
In August 2023, Srija completed her arangetram under Guru Smt. Vanishree in Chennai. She has now opened admission to her dance school: Nrityaarpnana school of Bharatanatyam and formally started teaching.
Srija strictly upholds the traditional teaching approach and emphasizes the quality of dance. She will not compromise on the standard of dance for the sake of performance. She firmly believes that students should have a firm grasp of adavus and talam before learning and presenting an item on stage. If you expect your children to learn an item before they are thoroughly trained in adavu and talam, then my school is not suitable for you, as I do not believe in shortcuts in learning.
“Having studied different dance styles such as bellydance, ballet, contemporary, Indian folk and of course Bharatanatyam. I can confidently say that cross training in dance really helps you broaden your perspective and techniques as a dancer.”
